Obituary of Marjorie Tyler

Marjorie Jo Tyler, 77, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2018, surrounded by her family, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. She was born on April 21, 1941, in New Plymouth, Idaho, to David Ward Tyler and Lena Madge Stedman. When she was 6, her family sold their farm and moved to Nyssa, Oregon, where she would spend the remaining years of her childhood. She had many fond memories of growing up in Nyssa, being involved in Job’s Daughters, school activities, and adventures with her many friends. She graduated from Nyssa High School in 1959. Shortly after high school, she married Dennis Savage and they had two daughters; Wendi Jo and Laura June. After they divorced, she married Kenneth Konen, and completed her family when their son, Keith Reinhart, was born. Marge had a successful career in retail management, holding several positions ranging from managing warehouse inventory to managing an entire store. She worked hard to provide for her family, and all three of her children joined the Air Force after completing high school. She often joked that she should have received recruiter pay. She took advantage of the opportunity to travel the world visiting them during their military careers, and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Marge was an avid crafter. She loved knitting, needlepoint, and working on her plastic canvas projects. She enjoyed participating in craft shows and making gifts for her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever she had a chance. She is survived by her three children: Wendi Tyler of Nampa, Idaho, Laura Clark of Ontario, Oregon, and Keith Konen (Dawne) of Pearl City, Hawaii; her brother, Carl Tyler (Ilene) of Walla Walla, Washington; four grandchildren, James, Tyler, Christopher, and Casey; and four great-grandchildren, Chyron, Theron, Tatum, and Carly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Lena Tyler. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Brookdale Ontario, 1372 SW 8th Ave, Ontario, Oregon, for anyone who would like to join us in honoring our mother. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Angel Wings Network, 442 State St, PO Box 54, Weiser, Idaho 83672, in our mother’s name. We would like to thank Dr. Pierson and the staff at St. Alphonsus Cancer Care Center, the Angel Wings Network in Weiser, the staff at Brookdale Ontario, and the folks at Signature Hospice, for the love, care, and encouragement they provided to our mother during her courageous battle.
