Obituary of Richard King

Richard (Dick) King, 83, of Vale, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at an Ontario Hospital. He was born on June 21 1935, in Rulo, Nebraska, to Les and Addie King.

Pre- and post-retirement, Dick loved to fish, travel and play cards. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He was always in good spirits and truly wanted the best for those around him, he always loved driving around and reminiscing about his youth and the many places he lived in the valley. Dad never knew a stranger and was a gentle soul that his family will greatly miss. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, and brother Wayne. He is survived by his children Rick (Oralia) King of Nyssa, Annette (Carlos) Fournier of Puerto Rico, Amy (Kris) Hellman of Olympia, Norah (Darryl) Agersea of Hood River and Tracey (Bill) Buhrig of Vale in addition 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. After a time in the Air Force, Dick worked for many years as an onion inspector for the State of Idaho and raced horses at Les Bois Park in Boise.  

The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Place in Vale and St. Alphonsus in Ontario for their care. Everyone was amazing while helping Dick and the family through a difficult time. A memorial service will be held January 25, 2019 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Vale. Services under the direction of Lienkaemper Chapel, Vale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to Pioneer Place in Vale.
