Curtis Venhaus

Obituary of Curtis Gale Venhaus

It is with great sadness we announce that Curtis G Venhaus (Curt), our dear Husband, father, son, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 10,2019 in Fife Washington.

Curt was raised in Colorado by his loving parents Gale Venhaus and Sandy Venhaus (Meisinger).  Curt lived in Colorado till the early 1980’s then moved to Nyssa, Oregon. Survivors are his Wife Kimberly Venhaus (Malone), Daughter Tasha Covarrubies, 3 Beautiful grand-daughters Emma, Maya, and Hannah, 1 grandson Quinn Trafitanti, Mother Sandy Venhaus, Brother Brian, Uncle and Aunt Richard Meisinger (Sandy) and a brother in law Lonnie Broyles, and many cousins.

Curt started his working career early in life, His first job was with Venhaus excavating in Englewood Colorado, then when he moved to Nyssa, Oregon he went to work for Oregon trail mushroom, from there he went to work as a farmer for a couple of years, When he moved to Nevada he went to work for Couer Rochester out of Unionville Nevada.  Then moved back to Nyssa and went to work for Willis Shaw trucking out of Boise Idaho, left there as he did not like going from coast to coast and being away from family for weeks on end.  After Willis Shaw he went back to work for Oregon Trail Mushroom out of Vale, Oregon.  Then he started working for Ryder Logistics out of Utah but was based at the Fruitland Idaho plant.  Out of all the years of employment Curt only missed 4 days of work.  3 days were for funerals and the 4th was due to a car accident.  He believed in giving 200% to whatever employer he worked for.

Curt was   a passionate person and put all his energy into things that meant the most to him. Curt loved his family dearly and if there was anything, he could do for anyone of them he would volunteer and get it done. His welcoming, compassionate, and witty personality drew people to him. He was very selective on who his friends were but once a friend there was nothing he would not do for you either. Curt made genuine connections with people from all walks of life. He was wise beyond his years but also had a young heart, which allowed him to draw friendships with people of all ages. Curt lived a modest and humble lifestyle and focused his life on family and would help neighbors in anyway he could. He was always there to help his parents and would always volunteer to help anyone in need. It is no surprise that people considered him as a second father, a brother, and a friend. Not only were people drawn to him so were his pets he would not admit it, but he loved his pets.   His commitment to living his life on his own terms was admirable; he always beat to the rhythm of his own drum and did things on his own time.

Curt is preceded in death by his Dad Gale, A Venhaus, His grand-parents Albert and Ethel Venhaus Both of North Platte Nebraska, grand-parents Robert Meisinger, and Leah Meisinger both of Nyssa Oregon. Gene Venhaus (Uncle) Bill Venhaus (Uncle).

The family wants to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, prayers, and thoughts during this difficult time. The love and kindness we have received is a testament to how many people he impacted and the kind of person he was.
