I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood with the Faw family. Peggy and I were best friends and hardly ever apart. John and my brother Ernie were good friends, as well. I can remember tapping the bulk tank, playing in the bunk house, the swing in the big tree out back, and every room of their house. I practically lived there myself.
On cool summer mornings they would stop to pick me up and we would water ski on the smooth water of Bully Creek.
I still use Ms. Donna's chocolate chip cookie recipe - they are the BEST!!
Donna always had a smile for everyone she saw and her laughter was contagious.
I learned many lessons from Donna in 4-H, in Sunday school, in life, and as a living example of a strong Christian women, mother, and later, a friend.
She was always my 'second' mom. I will miss you but hold to the promise of seeing you again someday!

Donna my friend, what a pleasure it was to know and work with you. I think about 1988 I decided to go into special education. The principal at that time called me into his office and said he was going to place a “difficult “ assistant in my room that I might have trouble getting along with. It was Deb, Julie, and later Lynn the speech therapist. I was guarded at first wondering what this hard to get along with woman would be like. Within a short time we all realized our strengths and became the best of friends.Donna taught me to not waste anything and to have a positive outlook. When things were hard she taught us to “play the glad game” from the old Pollyanna movie. That involved finding something good in every situation (even when I didn’t want to, sometimes irritating). Donna taught us all how to play cribbage, sometimes the hard way. She would actually slap my hand if I tried to cut the deck. I learned quickly! She always brought food to the room that she made. She was a wonderful cook, except the time she brought salmon loaf for my birthday and I pretended to like it while Lynn and Deb were laughing at my false approval. I can still see her riding her bike around and stopping in for a quick game then off to another event she was helping with. I am so glad that I kept contact with her after I left. About once a month I would call her and every time we would be laughing on the phone. I will miss those conversations, I really will. I’m sure that she is whipping souls into shape right now. I will miss you my friend. My sincere condolences to your family at this time. Gods Speed Donna. Jack

My dear family friends,
I was saddened to hear of my ‘second mom’ passing.
She was a big part of my early childhood days. Great memories and so many laughs were shared with this family.
My heart is happy knowing she is now at home with her Heavenly Father and those that have gone before her. She was a wonderful Christian lady and child of God.
My love and hugs and condolences to you all,
Susie “Brown” White❤️

My sweet forever friend. I will miss you. Thankful I got to talk to Donna on her last Birthday. We spent many years working together in the L.R.C. Vale Elementary. So manny happy memories I have of this dear lady that loved helping children learn. She is one of the most smart, witty and frugal persons I've ever known. Ha...I used to have to throw away old pencils when she wasn't looking because she would keep them till they were down to the eraser! We laughed and we cried and shared life together. Loved the stories she'd tell when living on the farm. Such a dedicated hard worker. A couple of quotes I still think of that she'd say to me: "Ya gotta play the glad game" or "Ya gotta be like a willow and bend a little". Our deepest and most sincere sympathy to all the family. We are out of state right now or I would be at her service.
