Obituary of Billy Welch

Billy Welch, 87, Nyssa, died April 20, 2019 at his home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday (4/27/19) at 10:00 a.m. at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, Nyssa.

Billy was born November 4, 1931 in Norfield, Mississippi to Stanley and Allie Welch. He joined in the U.S. Air Force 1949 and was honorably discharged in 1952. He then held various jobs until settling in Seattle, WA working for the METRO as a bus driver for over 30 years. After retiring, he made Nyssa his home for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters (Doris Hight and Margaret Wages), and three brothers (Jerry Welch, Carroll Welch, and Donald Welch).

Billy never had any children of his own, but he had many nieces and nephews who knew and loved him as “Uncle Bill”. He will be missed.
