Obituary of Delores Faye Andersen

Delores Faye Meeker Andersen, age 84, joined her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Aug. 12, 2019 after a long battle with heart disease and RA. Her passing was at home in the loving arms of her husband Leon Andersen.

Delores was born in Montezuma, IA on Feb. 6, 1935 to Lloyd and Wilma Meeker. After a brief residence in Nampa, ID the family moved to Ontario, OR. where she was raised and fell in love with Leon. The couple was married on Aug. 15, 1951 and shared an unwavering affection and love for each other for over 68 years. They were blessed with 4 children: Michael, Valorie, Douglas, and Nancy.

In 1958 the family purchased a dairy farm and the small town girl became a farmer’s wife. Delores had many jobs besides being a loving mother. She worked at the corn cannery, flagged for the road district, and was a successful Avon lady for 35 years. She enjoyed nature, movies, music, reading, and the company of friends and family.

Delores is survived by her husband Leon; sons Mike (Myrna) and Douglas (Leslie); daughters Valorie (Wayne) Palmer and Nancy (Allen) Ballantyne; sister Nelda (Charles) Stelling; brother Larry (Judy) Meeker; Aunt Ila Mills; brothers-in-law: Carlton (Deloris) Andersen and Donald Andersen.

Delores has 9 grandchildren: Robyn, Michael, Desirae, Clifford, Cenica, Clair, Jacob, Kerby and Jennifer; 3 great grandchildren: Weston, Megan, and Logan; 1 great-great grandchild: Laila. Delores was preceded in death by her brother Cleo, her parents Lloyd and Wilma Meeker.

A service of remembrance will be held at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church 208 SW 1st Ave, Ontario, OR. on Sat. Aug. 17 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
