Obituary of Vicki Jo Sumner

Vicki Sumner, 73, of Ontario, Oregon passed away October 11, 2019 in Eagle, Idaho.

 

Vicki was born February 12, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of Seward and Eurdean Dunn.  The family lived in Pocatello for a few years before moving to Boise, Idaho and Eugene, Oregon before settling in Ontario in 1958.  While in college at Eastern Oregon State College Vicki met and later married Marv Sumner.  Together they had two sons, Terry and Trent.

 

Vicki re-settled in Ontario in 1972 with her sons.  She worked at Hollingsworth’s John Deere dealership as a bookkeeper until she retired after about 35 years.

 

A proud and devoted mother who happily attended and transported her sons and their friends to a myriad of sporting events.  Vicki enjoyed traveling to see her sister, Suedean, in California and Virginia.   She was a voracious reader and loved doting on her cats.  In retirement, she loved visiting her grandkids. 

 

She is survived by her son Trent Sumner and Marcie Sullenger and their son Liam; Terry Sumner, his wife Kathy and their daughter Kayley along with his children with his first wife Debbie Johnson, daughter Taryn and her husband Shea McHugh and son Cade Sumner; beloved sister Suedean Moser and her husband Alan; nephews Jeff and Mark Moser and niece Kimberlee (Moser) Butler. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents William Seward Dunn, Jr. and Eurdean Hobbs Dunn.

 

Graveside Services will be held Thursday at 11:30 AM, October 17th, at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario. Services under the direction of Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario. 

 

In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be made to the Ontario Feral Cat Project / www.ontarioferalcats.org or St. Matthew Episcopal Church in Ontario.
