Molly Jean Schallhorn
12/24/1961 – 5/15/2020
Molly Schallhorn, 58, of Boise passed away Friday, May 15, 2020 at home. No services are planned at this time with cremation under the direction of Lienkaemper-Thomason Funeral Home of Weiser, ID
Molly was born December 24, 1961 in Redmond, OR to Bill & Martha Schallhorn. She joined her sister Kathy, and her brother Dan.
When she was 5, the family moved to Madras, OR. In late 1967 Dad’s job transfer with Copeland Lumber sent the family to Caldwell, ID. By that time, another sister had been born, Patty.
Her school years were spent in Caldwell, Class of1980. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Bowling, Junior Achievement, and many other classes that helped her prepare for a lifelong career in Administrative Support.
While in high school, at the age of 16, she began working for the J.R. Simplot company. In the early 80’s, she relocated to Boise, ID to begin working full time at the Simplot company. After 22 years there, other opportunities showed themselves. Things were tough in the job market at the time but with fierce determination, she forged ahead.
In 2014 she began working at Acosta Sales & Marketing in Boise and just a few years ago became a Supervisor to the Business Manager Assistants. She was so proud of her accomplishments.
In the mid 90’s she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was the first female member of Promise Keeper’s. It was thru this group that she was able to take a trip to Moab, UT which she thoroughly enjoyed. It was also thru this group that she was able to share God’s word to others.
She enjoyed reading, word and jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and quilting. She also had a deep love and respect for animals. She always made sure the fur babies were spoiled rotten. Her charm, loyalty, sarcastic wit, and tenacious spirit are greatly missed.
Molly was preceded in death by grandparents Hugh & Susie Smith, and William & Mildred Schallhorn, her mother Martha, her brother Dan, and all the family fur babies: Missy, Toby, Max, Chub, Scooter, & Daphne.
She is survived by her father Bill Schallhorn of Council, ID; sister Kathy Parker, and husband Mike of Independence, OR, and sister Patty Schallhorn of Council, ID.
Also surviving her are nieces Amy Parker, Becky Gembala, (Lonnie), Danielle Van Alphen,(Cody); and Christina Owsley of Boise, ID; nephews Mike Parker, (Rachel); Jason Schallhorn, (Machellel and, Brandon Owsley-Schallhorn, (Rebecca).
She is also survived by “The Grands,” Will, Cohen, Katie, Torriy, Aiden, Ashton, Autumn & Emily. Survivors also include her aunts Ellen Gregg and Lois Schallhorn; former sisters-in-law, Janice Owsley; and Berna, (Dan), Bassett; along with numerous cousins in Oregon and Washington.
I love you Molly, my sister, my friend. Our world is rather dim without you in it. Much love and hugs to you until we meet again. Chat later.
