Mom, Grams, Judy to most.

Judy Louise (Buell) Page left this world for a better one on Sunday, January 24^th after more than a month of various health issues, surgery and complications.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Danny, their daughter Julie, sister LaRie, granddaughter Caity Girl, three step-grandchildren, Shawn, Becky and Jason Lynch, numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins – and her Aunt Eva Jackson.  She was preceded in death by three precious little preemies, her parents Delbert and Leona, brother Jim, and son-in-law Dean Lynch.

Judy was born May 7, 1951 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Delbert and Leona (Hilton) Buell, the second of three children. The family moved to Weiser, Idaho when Judy was in second grade, and a few years later moved to Cambridge when her dad’s job transferred him there.  It was fate – she met her only love, Danny Page, when she was in 5^th grade, and they were inseparable – even as she walked the fence to get his attention, and he threw rocks to try to knock her down!  They had a very young love, Mom always joked that people said they were too young, they would never make it – it was never funnier than on their 50^th wedding anniversary!  Some of their years were rocky, especially when they suffered the loss of one baby, then a second. Their world changed when Julie was born in 1970.  They had one more baby too early after Julie, and decided then that they were meant to have just one.  Judy’s little sister LaRie was born a year before Julie, and Judy started bringing LaRie to stay with them for a week or more at a time even before Julie was born. The girls were close from the beginning, and still are. Every Christmas was like growing up with a sibling, the girls got the same toys, had the same experiences, loved and fought like sisters though they were aunt and niece.

Judy was a stay-at-home mother until Julie started school.  She waited tables at the Grub Steak Café in Council for several years, then went to work for more than 20 years at Shaver’s grocery store.  She later worked part-time for her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in Cambridge at their grocery store – some of her happiest times were her days at City Market!  She was born to be in customer service, always had a quick smile and a friendly chat while she rang up groceries or served food.  She was the same at home, at family gatherings, every day of her life.  She took teasing from her brothers-in-law and gave it right back!  The family’s overwhelming memories are of Judy’s laugh, her twinkling eyes, and her love for us all.  She had a special bond with her nephew Joseph, though all of her nieces and nephews were special to her.

Judy didn’t want a formal funeral service so the family has decided to celebrate her life when the weather is better and we can get together to remember her.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Council Ambulance Fund or to Life Flight.
