Leila Marie Lockett 83

Of Weiser, Idaho passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in a local Nursing Home of natural causes

 

Leila was born May 16, 1938 in Union Oregon

Leila was the second daughter of 5 children of Clifford and Agnes Tarvin.

She was raised in Huntington, Oregon.

Leila married Dwight (Chip) Lockett June 6th, 1956 just out of high school,

they were married 63 years, and together they raised three children.

Chip and Leila worked his father’s cattle ranch until 1968. Then they moved

to Seward, Alaska. After a couple years they moved back to Huntington,

Oregon where they owned and operated a registered quarter horse ranch for

about 47 years.

 

Leila operated the quarter horse business and took care of the home.

Chip retired they spent their golden years pursuing her passion

of raising horses and spending time with her extended family.

 

She is survived by her 3 children. A son, Dwight Lynn and his wife Peggy Lockett

of Ontario, Oregon. A daughter Darla and her husband Bill Broam of Payette, Idaho.

A son Leonard Tad and his wife Becky Lockett of Weiser, Idaho. 3 sisters            

 Christine Delepierre of Union, Oregon, Glinda Bullard of Tacoma, Washington         

 and Nancy Hendrickson of  Lytle Texas.                                                                     

 

Grandchildren – Scott and his wife Carrisa Lockett, Sandy and her husband Danny Roe,

Tyla and her husband Matthew Barba, Tia and her husband Joshua Mitchell,

Tonya Broam, Toria Broam, Jesse Lockett and Danica Lockett.

 

Great Grandchildren - Jacob and Jeffrey Lockett, Degan Schloemann, Cooper Roe,

Kennedy Roe, Kolsie Roe and Mikala Roe, Roger Mitchell, Zayden Broam-Mitchell,

Donovan Broam and Mason Sasser. Numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Leila was preceded in death by her husband Chip Lockett, parents Clifford and Agnes Tarvin

and her sister Mae Fuzi.

 

Services will be held Thursday October 14, 2021 at 4pm at Lienkaemper-

Thomason Funeral Chapel, Weiser, Idaho.
