Obituary of Elsie M. Pickett

Elsie Magdalen Yeaw Pickett  

April 9, 1926 – Sept. 9, 2022  

Elsie Magdalen Yeaw Pickett passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, September 9, 2022 at the age of 96 years.   

Elsie was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on April 9, 1926 to Kenneth & Christina Schwab Yeaw. She had an older brother, Kenneth and two younger sisters, Luella & Teresa. Elsie graduated from Council High School in 1945.  In high school she participated in girls’ basketball, cheerleading and had many fond memories of riding the Galloping Goose train to Starkey Hot Springs to swim.   

Elsie was married on January 21, 1946 in Council, Idaho to the love of her life, Joseph Arvin Pickett. They were married for 74 years and blessed with two children, Linda and Timothy.  They enjoyed living in many locations around the United States due to Joe’s job, and Elsie delighted in decorating each new home.  Elsie enjoyed cooking, sewing & needlework and had many friends everywhere they lived.  

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, brother Kenneth, sisters Luella & Teresa, daughter Linda and granddaughter Meggin Ford.  She is survived by son Tim (Sharon) Pickett, son-in-law Thomas Bailie and grandchildren Tomalin Bailie (Andrew) Wallace, Tamsyn & Zack Bailie, Sarah (Jessie) Slate, Laura (Jeffrey) Penny. Great grandchildren Madison Bailie, Oliver & Max Bailie Wallace, Lane Ford, Olivia Slate and Draven & Harper Penny.  

Graveside services will be held at the Eastside Cemetery in Midvale, Idaho on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
