Obituary of Joseph Johannes

                                                                    Joseph A. Johannes

Born January 19, 1927, in Fresno, CA to Henry and Margaret Johannes. He passed away in his sleep at age 96 on February 4, 2023, in New Plymouth, Idaho. He was proceeded in death by his Father, Mother, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, a son, daughter, and grandson. Joe enlisted in the US Navy on January 1945. He served on the USS Pennsylvania battleship and the USS Rutland during World War II. He was honorably discharged in August of 1946.

Joe met Thelma McDonald in 1951 and then married her in December 1951. They started their life together in Madera, CA, then moved to Idaho in 1972 and settled in New Plymouth in 1975. He was a devoted husband and father of a son and 3 beautiful daughters. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Johannes, and 2 daughters, Edna Wells and Cindy Harrold, and has 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. They were all the most important parts of his life. Services will be held on February 11th at 1:00 pm in the First Baptist Church, 118 W. Idaho St. New Plymouth, Idaho. He will be laid to rest in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.
