Obituary of Rocky McDonough

Rocklin Elaine Middleton was born to Roy Edward Middleton and Opal Maureen (Cotton) Middleton on May 5, 1947, in Vancouver, Washington.

Rocky, as everyone knows her, was educated in the Vancouver school system through the 8th grade.   After the 8th grade, Rocky began working, and did not complete any further formal education.

Rocky spent her working life as a waitress and a housekeeper.  Because she worked these jobs that some would call menial, she had a special place in her heart for people in that type of employment.  Rocky made sure her waitresses always received a good tip, and she never had a crossword for anyone in the service industry.

At 6 pm on April 2, 2015, Rocky met the love of her life, Milt McDonough.  Rocky met Milt through his son Russel and his wife Linda.  They went to dinner at “Bob’s Steakhouse” in Nyssa, Oregon, and everyone clicked.  Milt and Rocky were a couple from that day forward.

On March 12, 2016, Milt and Rocky were married.  They shared a life together for 7 years, until Rocky’s passing on March 12, 2023.

Her time with Milt was the best of her life.  They went out to eat twice a day nearly every day.  They shared their apartment in Payette with two cats that showed up at the door and were taken in, fed, and adopted.

Rocky is survived by her loving husband Milt McDonough of Payette, her older brother Butch, his wife Judy of Parma, Idaho, her many waitress friends, and many loving members of Milt’s family.

A memorial service honoring Rocky will be held Saturday March 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at Thomason Funeral Home.
