Obituary of Gene A. Worden

Gene Allen Worden passed away peacefully at the Peaks of Clinton in Clinton, Uyah after a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.  Gene was born on April 26, 1947, in Nyssa, Oregon to Elvin and Frances Worden.  He attended school in Adrian, Oregon graduating from high school in 1965 as Salutatorian.  He attended college at Oregon State University for one year and the College of Idaho for three years graduating with a degree in chemistry.  After college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  After his discharge, he returned to the family farm in Adrian where he lived for many years.  Gene married Karen McPartland and along with Karen's daughter Monica added Sage and Skylar to their family.  Gene and Karen were later divorced.  Gene worked at Amalgamated Sugar Company in Nyssa, Oregon for many years as a chemist until his retirement.   Music was an important part of Gene's life.  He played guitar in a band called The Sundowners in high school and college.  He played music for most of his life until he was unable to because of Huntington's Disease.  Gene is survived by his children Monica McPartland, Sage Worden, and Skylar Worden.  He had three grandchildren and a sister, Mary Spence(Fred). He was preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife Karen Worden.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 qt 1 p.m. at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery in Nyssa, Oregon.
