Gaspar Rodriguez

Obituary of Gaspar E. Rodriguez

Gaspar Rodriguez, also known as Elias to many, passed away on 13 May 2023. Born July 8, 1965, in Mexico to Cruz and Apolonio Rodríguez, Gaspar was the youngest of five boys. At a young age, he relocated to Nyssa, Oregon, where he received his upbringing and education. Gaspar graduated from Nyssa High School and later attended Boise State University.

For years, Gaspar devoted his skills to building and creating art canvases for his eldest brother's artwork, a task he took great pride in. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Gaspar had a deep passion for collecting sports memorabilia, coins, magazines, and various art forms. He shared this enthusiasm with his son, brothers, nieces, and nephews, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories that will continue to be passed down through generations.

Gaspar was a man of service and embarked on a mission to Ecuador with a local church from Nyssa. Known for his infectious smile, he was adored by his son, nieces, and nephews, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Gaspar found his greatest joy when surrounded by his family, especially his beloved son, Gaspar Jr. He took immense pride in caring for his aging father and eventually became his full-time caregiver, considering it his most important role.

Gaspar leaves behind his son, Gaspar Molina Rodriguez of Nampa, and his brothers Jose Luis Rodriguez (Gloria) of Washington, Fernando Rodriguez of Mexico, Thomas (Melba) Rodriguez of Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Although our hearts ache from losing him too soon, we find solace in the cherished memories we share. Gaspar, you can rest in peace alongside Mom, Dad, and Polo, knowing that your love and presence will forever be with us.

Gaspar's love for movies, his close bond with his brothers and extended family, his thoughtfulness in remembering birthdays, and his unwavering care for his loved ones will always be remembered. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, especially his beloved son, whom he held closest to his heart. He was laid to rest on May 19, 2023, next to his Mother and Father in Nyssa, Oregon.
