Obituary of John H. Ingram

John Harold Ingram was born on October 17, 1932 to Charles and Nettie (Palmer) Ingram. John was raised in a large family, being one of eleven children. When John was born his family was living along the Owyhee River in the Watson area before moving to the Vale area. From there the family moved to Vale Oregon. John grew up helping with chores around the farm. As a teenager John raised his own herd of horses until he was able to save up for a car. John participated in sports throughout school, boxing being a favorite of his. John spent many hours doing farmwork for neighboring farms until he turned 18.

In 1953 John's friend convinced him to join the army. The army rejected his friend but recruited John. John had basic training in Camp Roberts in Saint Luis Obispo, California. He was then sent to Germany for training maneuvers. The Korean War was just over so John did not see any combat. He was discharged in 1955 and returned home to Vale. John married Katie Louise Eurfurt. They had 3 children together, Cynthia Lee (December 15, 1957- June 26, 2012), Thomas Dean (September 25, 1959-September 19, 2013) and Bonnie Sue (July 13, 1961). He also had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. John enjoyed telling stories of him growing up and teasing when the opportunity presented itself. Some of his favorite stories to tell is the stories of him and his brother messing with his other brother Bob's patrol car. He loved to take the grandkids hunting, fishing and camping.

John is survived his Daughter Bonnie (Scott) Osborn, his brother Thomas Ingram, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
