Obituary of Janyce Lynn Adams Chamberlain

Janyce Lynn Adams Chamberlain, 84, of Nyssa passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Janyce was born May 3, 1939 in Weiser, Idaho to Robert and Minnie Arlene (Taylor) Adams. She grew up on Adams Road outside of Nyssa on the family homestead. Janyce married Duane James “Jim” Chamberlain in January 1956 in Winnemucca, NV and together they raised two children, Dennis and Kristi.

Janyce worked at Ore-Ida, drove school bus, and at the hospital in Nyssa to name a few jobs outside of the home.

She is survived by daughter Krisit Shockey of Nyssa; Grandsons Tyler (Kelly) Chamberlain of Nyssa, Duane Chamberlain of Parma, ID, Travis (Heather) Getts and Jordan (Millie) Getts both of Bremerton, WA, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Janyce was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Duane James, son Dennis and sister Sharon Adams.

Services will be held at Owyhee Community church at 1 p.m. on February 19th with a reception to follow. Interment will follow at Owyhee Cemetery. Condolences can be made to the family at www.lienkaemper-thomas.com. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
